Description

This beautiful Uncirculated Three Coin Set produced by the Royal Australian Mint commemorates the Centenary of Federation of Australia.

One hundred years, six British colonies came together in a federation to establish Australia as an independent sovereign country. Our nation, Australia, was born and in 1911 Western Australia became a separate state within the Commonwealth.

All three coins in this unique set feature symbols of the reasons for celebration: Western Australia as part of the Commonwealth, the vision and talent of our youth, and the unity of our land.

Western Australia 's Coat of Arms is featured on the commemorative 50c coin, while the 20c coin carries a design created by a school student from Western Australia reflecting a young person's view of what is special about their state. The winning design for Western Australia was selected from entries in a national competition in which primary and secondary school students designed a coin to represent their respective state or territory. The $1 coin features the official logo of the Centenary of Federation, while the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley appears on the obverse of each coin.
