Resin Coin Paper Weight
Description
1964 half penny, 1964 threepence, 1963 sixpence, 1963 shilling, and 1963 florinencased in a resin/perspex block commemorating the Centenary of The Bank Of Adelaide 1865-1965 the last mintings of pre-decimal coins.
Coins appear suspended in the block, use as a paperweight or a collector item. Includes Certificate and outer gold box with tissue paper. A nice better example with lovely coins. The certificate is in excellent condition. The box is however a little worse for wear, still intact but with scuffed edges but it has done its job of keeping the contents safe.
These were manufactured for The Bank of Adelaide and distributed to all staff and VIP customers. The bank wasn’t given permission to include the penny in the isssue which is why it’s been omitted as one of the last pre-decimal coins. Estimated mintage according to this Numismatic Society of South Australia article (by Mick Vort-Ronald) is 2,000.
