2019 RAM $1 Uncirculated Coin In Card - Centenary of the Treaty of Versailles

On 28 June 1919, the signing of the Treaty of Versailles effectively ended the First World War. This moment also carried additional significance for Australia as a nation. As a signatory to the Treaty, Australia was recognised an an independent nation under international law, as as a member of the League of Nations. This 2019 $1 Uncirculated Coin celebrates the centenary of this historic event.
The Treaty of Versailles established the peace after the First World War. Thirty-two nations signed the treaty on 29 June 1919, in the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles. Australia, alongside three other British Dominions was a signatory nation, marking a turning point in Australia's history.
The Treaty of Versailles recognised a new status for Australia as a nation. The solemnity of this historic centenary is acknowledged in this 2019 $1 coin featuring a design inspired by the 1919 Australian Peace Medal.
Design inspired by the 1919 Peace Medal – Triumph of Liberty & Justice, which was presented to Australian schoolchildren to mark the end of the First World War.
