Description

  • The Australian Crown (5 Shilling) coins were only minted in 1937 and 1938, with the 1937 coin having a mintage of 1,008,000 while the 1938 mintage is low at 101,600.
  • The crown received a poor reception from the general public, who felt it was simply too bulky for practical everyday use. Minting continued into 1938, but was halted a few months into the new year.
  • This 1937 Crown has been cleaned and is housed in a Lighthouse self adhesive 2x2 holder.
  • 92.5% Silver content

Please Note: This is a second hand collectable and does have surface spotting and to both the obverse and reverse of the coin, and has not been cleaned.
