DETAILS
This outstanding collection of the seven Australian coins in common use, features for the first time a new effigy of Her Majesty, The Queen, brilliantly portrayed by Mr Raphael Maklouf in 1984. Me Maklouf was born in Jerusalem in 1937 and has lived in the United Kingdom since the second World War. His design was selected for coinage as a result of entries from 17 British and Commonwealth artists invited to submit portrait models.
Also included for the first time in a collection is the distinctive new Australian one dollar coin which has replaces the one dollar note and is the first major addition to Australia's circulating decimal coinage since 1966.
The reverse sides of the coins in this set feature uniquely Australian animals, birds, and repltiles which reflect the Australian heritage of a vast, sometimes harsh but always distinctly different southern continent.
Please Note: These are second-hand collectables and may contain scratches, creases, marks, toning or other minor damage. Feel free to ask for photos before purchasing.
