DETAILS
In 2001 Australia Celebrated the Centenary of Federation, the Royal Australian Mint released a commemorative 50c bearing the Coat of Arms for Each State and Territory.
The shiled on the Queensland Coat of Arms, features a sheaf of wheat, the heds of a bull and ram to represent primary industries, and a column of gold on top of a mound of quartz to symbolise mining. The supporters of the arms, assigned in 1977, are the Brolga representing native-born Queenslanders, and a Red Deer that symbolises the contribution made by migrants from the United Kingdom and Europe.
At the top of the Coat of Arms, frames by two stalks of sugar cane, is the State badge - a blue Maltese Cross with a Royal Crown super-imposed. The State's Latin motto; "Audax at Fidelis" or 'Bold but Faithful' is quoted at the base of the Coat of Arms.
