The Royal Australian Mint's Inspirational Australians series commemorates unique Australians who have made an extraordinary contribution to our society. Steve Irwin is honoured in this second release of the series. 

With his unconventional style and undeniable charisma, Steve Irwin convinced us to think about wildlife in a new way. His sudden passing in 2006 stunned the world, but his legacy will not be forgotten. His Crocodile Hunter wildlife documentaries; Australia Zoo in Beerwah, Queensland; and the establishment of the conservation charity, Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors has made an indelible mark on wildlife conservation that will live on for years to come.
