Description
Details
Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge was born on the 22nd of July 2013 at 4.24pm BST. Nestled in the arms of his proud parents, he was introduced to the world the following day on the steps of the Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital.
The first child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George is third in line to the Throne after Prince Charles (presently King Charles) and his father, Prince William. For the first time in British history the gender of the newborn royal was irrelevant- the newly altered Act of Succession meant that the first born, whether a boy or a girl, would be monarch. And in another first, the birth of this royal baby saw Prince William take formal paternity leave from his position as a helicopter resuce pilot.
