Description
The Chinese Zodiac, Sheng Xiao, has its basis in a twelve-year cycle. Each year is represented by one of twelve animals each with their own unique personality traits. These characteristics are said to be passed onto people born in that year. In 2019 we celebrate the Lunar Year of the Pig. Those who are born in this year are said to be both warm-hearted and good-tempered.
The Chinese calendar also rotates through the elements of earth, fire, water, metal and wood as part of a larger 60-year cycle. Earth is the element for this Year of the Pig with people born in this year said to be particularly loyal, honest and gentle.
