To support the 2020 Australian Paralympic Team and mark their long journey to Japan, the Royal Australian Mint released a coloured $2 coin featuring Australian Paralympic Team mascot – Lizzie the Lizard in manga style, certain to appeal to enthusiasts and collectors.

The Tokyo Paralympics were planned for 2020, but postponed because of the Covid-19 pandemic; the first time games have been rescheduled rather than cancelled, as they were during the World Wars.
