Down on Garema Place in central Canberra, the ubiquitous black and white figure of a magpie pecks at a chip, though there is no sing-song yodelling from this big bird. The Big Swoop is a locally made sculture - contstructed by Yanni Pouinartzis- that stands 2.4 meters tall and 3.5 meters long, weighing about half a metric tonne.
