The Perth Mint is pleased to present the beautifully crafted 1oz silver coloured coin celebrating the Australia outback. Australia's vast and rugged outback is a land of awe-inspiring natural beauty, steeped in rich history and cultural significance. The continent spans a staggering 7.68 million square kilometres, an area comprising deep canyons, arid desert, lush rainforests, and stunning coastlines. Australia is home to between 600,000 and 700,000 species of wildlife, many of which are found only in Australia, making the Australian outback one of the world's most precious natural treasures.

The coin’s reverse showcases a dynamic scene from outback Australia. Clockwise from the right, a dingo howls from its rocky perch, a crocodile looms as it raises its head from the water, two kangaroos pause to drink from the riverbed, and a frilled-neck lizard rests on a nearby rock. Above, a powerful wedge-tailed eagle soars with four companions following in formation. In the distance, emus stride across a mountainous landscape, gazing toward the horizon. In the foreground of the design is beautifully coloured Australian native flora, including Sturt’s Desert Peas and poached egg daisies.

Additional coloured elements include the horizon and the frilled-neck lizard resting on the rocks. The design also features The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark and 2026 year-date. The obverse bears the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, and the coin’s weight, fineness and monetary denomination. The outer rim is adorned with illustrations of native Australian flora.
