DETAILS:

This 2027 50c Uncirculated Tetradecagon Coin celebrates the Year of the Goat and all who are born under its sign. The reverse design features a beautiful long-haired goat, amongst sprays of Chinese sacred lilies-a type of daffodil that symbolises good fortune when it blooms in the Lunar New Year period.

Each year of Sheng Xiao, the Chinese zodiac, is represented by one of twelve animals. Each creature's unique characteristics are said to be shared by those born under their sign. People born in the Year of the Goat are believed to be gentle, empathetic and creative. Famous international Goats include entrepreneur and philanthropist Bill Gates, tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, and musicians Norah Jones and Ed Sheeran. Well-known Australian Goats include actress Nicole Kidman and musician Tina Arena.

The Chinese calendar also rotates through the elements of earth, fire, water, metal and wood as part of a larger 60-year cycle. 2027 is the Year of the Fire Goat.
