This third edition of the popular Stanley Gibbons East Africa Catalogue lists and prices all the commonwealth issues of region. The level of detail will be familiar to users of the company’s ‘part 1’ Commonwealth Catalogue.
The catalogue provides full listings of the stamps of Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, including British East Africa, German East Africa and Zanzibar, as well as the pre-independence issues of Egypt and Sudan, British Somaliland and all issues for use in occupied former Indian colonies during and after World War II.
· Prices for this widely collected area have been carefully revised and updated in line with the current market. Valuation for early issues and errors and varieties, have been marked up significantly in many cases
· Watermark varieties, shades, plate flaws, major errors, booklets, postage dues and official stamps are all included and there is a helpful guide to prices of stamps on cover to 1945. Fully prices listings are provided for British stamps used in Alexandria and Suez up to 1878 and Indian stamps used in Mombasa and Zanzibar, while there are extended notes on the use of Egyptian stamps abroad
· Details of the issues up to 1970 have been extracted from Stanley Gibbons 2015 Commonwealth and British Empire Catalogue. Later issues have been revised and updated especially for this catalogue

The military telegraph stamps of Egypt and Sudan are now fully listed and priced, as are the Railway telegraphs of Uganda. There are a number of new varieties in Sudan and the ‘Mountain’ retouches on the King George VI definitive of Kenya, Uganda and Tanganyika are now separately listed and priced. Other new varieties include the ‘Slanting “I”’ on the 1907 3m. Surcharged postage dues of Egypt and the ‘Mountain’ Flaw on the Tanganyika 20s of 1961.
